WHY JOIN OKAPP? The most valuable investment you can make in yourself is to join an organization that is dedicated to improving your skills and abilities and obtaining more value for increasingly scarce tax dollars. By joining the Oklahoma Association of Public Procurement, a chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), you become a member of a professional organization dedicated to the principles and needs of the public purchasing profession. You'll enjoy professional exposure and networking opportunities, as well as the training available at the local and national levels.

QUALIFICATIONS

    We welcome any person engaged in public purchasing in Oklahoma and who subscribes to the objectives and ethical principles of our organization and is willing to actively support it.

    According to OkAPP by-laws, membership is open to "public institution procurement personnel, including federal, state, county, and municipal and township activities, public school systems, colleges, universities, hospitals, commissions, authorities, and any other political subdivisions of the State."

How to Join


REGULAR MEMBERSHIP 


Individual Membership is available to persons employed by a public agency and who spend a significant amount of time involved in purchasing or material management functions, or are in positions having direct influence on the public procurement process. Individual memberships cannot be transferred to another individual.

AGENCY MEMBERSHIP 


Agency Membership requires individuals to meet the same requirements as the Individual Membership, but must be paid for by the employer. Agency members must be named in the application (new vacant memberships are not permitted), but the membership can be transferred by the agency to a different individual during the membership year. Please submit a separate application for each individual to be included in the Agency membership, or contact our membership chair for assistance.

HONORARY AND RETIRED MEMBERSHIP

Membership applications must be approved by the OkAPP Membership Committee Chairperson prior to acceptance.
